    what else do you play?

    I was just curious...

Obviously you have played BattleTech and/or Red Planet in the pods, but how many of you also play:

the table-top "MechWarrior" or "Classic BattleTech"?

    Other RPG table-top games?

    MechWarrior or MechAssault video games?

    Other video games?

    Lazer Tag and/or paintball?

    Any other gaming type?

Feel free to list what you currently play and/or what interests you but never played.
    v 4.x and 5.x; v 4.x (750 mission count); v 5.x (yes, I'm still keeping my sheets, I just haven't counted them lately...)

RE: what else do you play?

I'll go ahead and go first.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in the 1970's I used to play D&D and a super-hero-based RPG back in the mid 80s. Never really that good, I just like the creation and storylines.

I've always had a fascination with video games. Coin-op, console, computer, it really didn't matter. I think it was the intrigue of the design of the game and the technology therein. Zork, Space Invaders, Defender, Lunar Lander, TailGunner, Tempest, Marathon, Doom, Unreal, Halo, a number of driving/race/flying games/simulators,...
mostly action and or driving/piloting games.

Played Laser tag since early 80's (still have my "Photon" id around here somewhere.)

Never played any of the BattleTech RPGs or paintball.

As far as sports, I used to play Hockey and run track (yeah odd combo).

    Speaking of paintball...

I played paintball semi-professionally (well, amateur leagues) for 3 years in Europe. Went to the Millenium championship series half a dozen times Had a blast of a time, but I'll tell ya.. it's EXPENSIVE!

RE: what else do you play?

have played battletech miniatures, I believe using level 2 rules with a bunch of the NYBT gang.
was a member of the New York Battle Tested team that played on the mechwarriorleagues.com FFPCNR ladder, ran the dedicated server we used for hosting practices and when we had to host league matches also played in the solaris leagues including making the playoffs in at least 2 seasons in a few divisions. I have also played both mechassault games though I didn't end up liking them much. Never got into MW2 and have yet to install and play mechcommander, but I have it.

played D&D as a player and a dungeon master as a kid through high school, then picked it up again with the 3.0 and 3.5 ruleset (D20 based) for quite a few years including running the forums for our group to keep track of the between week details, setup our next gaming day, etc. Favorite chars are usually Dwarf Fighters or Dwarf Clerics.

Love paintball, played it for many years, haven't played as much the last few years, this battletech thing seems to get in the way when it comes to cost, lol. Still use my autococker that I have had from the early 90s, sorely miss the pump days, I own a bushmaster pump, but I miss my derringer Mach II with custom howdy bolt, don't miss my old splatmaster rapide.

Played Soccer mostly, center halfback, occaisionally goalie. Went to Georgio Chinalia Soccer Academy a few summers in a row, was an all star every year I played soccer and won awards at the camp, didn't get to play in College for various reasons. Played Basketball until I stopped growing in 9th grade and everyone passed me and I went from being taller than most to avg at best height. 5'6" is not a good height for competitive basketball. Ran long distance track in the spring, the mile and the 2 mile. Also passionately played Racquetball competitively from around age 11 on, since blowing out my ACL in my right knee I have not played and miss it greatly. Highest level I acheived was the "A" level, always wanted to break into the open bracket which is right under semi-pro. Great sport, don't understand why it never took off more, I find it far more interesting to watch than tennis and decidedly more fun to play. Always loved to play football, especially tackle with no equipment in the snow or mud. I'm kinda nutz, so I tended to excel in the bad weather conditions, even in soccer when others would back off with unsure footing. Wanted to be a running back and a safety in football, but Mom felt soccer was safer and forbid it. Broke my collar bone in soccer, which turns out to be a lot more violent a sport than it's given credit for and I loved all the elbow smashing, slide-tackling, bone jarring fun of it. hhehe. Played QB in intramural football also, liked to throw. Played baseball through the little league years, was mostly a 3rd baseman. Was an all star once or twice in baseball too.

PHOTON!!! I played that here in NJ also, even was lucky enough to captain a team in the first season of leagues before I had to go off to college and they didn't have it down where I was in Virginia, by the time I came back from college, the store went out of business, probably missed all the cash I dumped into it! lol. Photon rocked, my card: http://www.munno.net/images/photoncard.JPG played as DragonLord back then, wanted DragonSlayer but they had 10 char limit on names for the pc entry system. I think I may even still have my sheets somewhere. Always wanted to go to that competition they held in I think it was Dallas, no? Great game, I still think it was the best version of laser tag ever. There is a guy in Maryland that runs a laser tag site on the old photon layout, he even has a working set of the equipment and runs it every now and then for nostalgia, we may even be able to get it setup for a bunch of old time photon players to go and play. I have to dig up the info on that if people are interested. I have a pair of guns and bases for the home set somewhere that I picked up on ebay for like $5. I also have a lot of the MP3 versions of the photon soundtrack that they used with the whole "Welcome photon warriors commence strategic maneuvers at audible command signal, 5, 4, ..." etc

I have often thought running a site with battletech firestorm in the pods and a good laser tag system like Photon with a solid map etc, a party room, and maybe even an indoor and/or outdoor paintball field would be a really cool gaming center.

I love gaming, have always been into video games, I have always wanted to own/run my own arcade someday, loved a good pinball table too, like Fun House, Attack from Mars, Star Trek TNG, etc. (the new LOTR table looks sweet) There was one game F15 eagle strike??? I forget the name, but I could play for hours on one quarter with free "pops" in each game, lol I even got a paper route so I could use some of the money I didn't put away for trips to the local arcade and drop a 20 to convert to 2 quarter rolls and play all day, hehe. Of course riding a bike to get there probably helped keep the weight off back then as well as all the sports I played then too.

lmao, good stuff, lots of great memories.

I'm currently a DnD player (3.5) in the RPGA Living Greyhawk campain. I also run a Cyberpunk 2020 game for my friends (and play too, when i can talk them into writing something) If your in the Houston area, and are intrested in joining Cp2020, gimme a hollar, we need more meat for the grinder.. *cough*
I played paintball back in college till the constant spankings from HPD Swat just got too depressing, they used that field for their intertainment purposes.
I havent played table-top battletech in years. Some friends got me started back in high school, and i taught myself how to paint on those old figurines, and how to mod, repair, repair, and repair minis.. (Waddya mean you forgot you left the mini on the roof of the car? and you FOUND all the peices???)
From battletech a friend got me into Mekton, which I dabbled in for a while.

I had a National ranking in Mage Knight for about a month, then the feller that ran the venue pissed me off so bad I quit playing at his store, which was the only one that hosted sacntioned events within 80mi of my home, argh.

as for videogames, these days i play B-tech Firestorm up at mechcorps, and Halo/Halo 2 when i've got friends to play with/agenst, and when i'm not interacting with Real Life in some form or fashion, you can probably find me on City of Heroes.

I currently play Firestorm, suffering huge withdrawals from a lack of 4.10 action.

As far as non-electronic games, i played magic back in the day, and several of the dallas pilots have recently jumped into an old school of D&D.

Im pretty much a video game addict, when it boils down to it. I played asheron's call for 4-5 years, and have been disappointed with every attempt at a good representation of pvp since. I do however enjoy EVE online, along with several of our dallas guys. I play the occasional warcraft 3, shadowbane, mech4:mercs, rainbow six: las vegas, descent, oblivion, ex-wow player (bleargh,) dungeon siege, battlefield 2(142), or just whatever seems fun at the moment. very broad spectrum here. currently enfatuated with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

I played laser tag quite a bit growing up. Back before I could afford/understand the inner-workings of battletech, I played at Q-Zar across the walkway from the Virtual World store in dallas.

Lastly, I have a grossly underfunded burning addiction to paintball, of the speedball (tournament) format. I've got 3 $1500 rigs sitting around collecting dust because real life sucks, and takes all your money away. I am suffering greatly due to the lack of my stress outlet. I ran a team for a good long while in dallas called Skulduggery. We did alright in a few local tournaments, and then everyone started having funding issues. Any good fields in houston? Not like there would be any time for it during the invy, lol...

    I Battletech and Paintball.

I started olaying paintball before I found BT. That was back in '96 or so. Been hooked ever since. I play on a scenario team when I get the chance now. Texas Roughnecks. Hogie in Dallas is a member too. I like woodsball and speedball pretty much equally. My gerkit shows that pretty well. I would love to see what Obeaner has collecting dust! And yes, there are some nice fields down here!

I love Battletech. I'm so glad I found it again! There's nothin like it! What else can I say?

I dabble in golf, cause I'm a minister.

But I play more video games cause I'm a youth minister! I just recently finished Zelda: Twilight Princess and it was AWESOME! I don't like the turn-based type rpg games. But FPS or driving games I love! Plus big robots shooting each other...

But I prefer to enjoy God's creation outdoors more than being inside. If we could ever combine paintball and reall Mechs, I would be in heaven!

Lemme see here, quite a lot, actually. Back in the day, I used to play football a lot, didn't play for my school because it was that sucky flag football. Played vollyball for a year. Dunno if this qualifies as a sport, but I took classes and remember my lesson's in fencing and archery (better fencer, feel free to challenge me if you have extra gear, cause I don't.) Was heavily into Magic for quite a while. Am pretty heavily into D&D currently. Also play cyberpunk, dabbled in RIFTS and Changeling. Played a little paintball quite a while back, why I know quite a few military terms and op's. Alway's been into videogames, even if I don't have the newest and so-called greatest games and systems (sometimes it's fun to hook up you NES and play some Dragon Warrior or Double Dragon.) Still have the origional Mechwarrior game somewhere, last time I tried to play it forgot to slow down the processor, match was over in a second and a half Became pretty good at poker during summer school, and still like to play occasionally. Got into Warhammer, and still have my entire 2500 point (500$) tyranid army, it just needs repainting. And, because flipping through channels one day I actually saw a Scrabble championship on ESPN, I guess board games count as a sport, so I play those. Oh, and chess, can't forget chess (speaking of which, Q, we gotta have a rematch sometime where I'm not trying to play chess while drinking a beer.) That's pretty much all I can think of right now.

Gran Turismo. Like you would not believe. I tend to generally pwn face at any driving game, but GT is MY game. I've got a G25 wheel set up in my living room, and I use it all the d*mn time. After you guys get done 'sploding my 'mech sometime, maybe we can head to my place and I'll school you all at some GT.

I played DnD in High School, haven't played since. 1st char was a human paladin, 1st roll of the dice, I got 18/00 str. I was like "Double zero?! LAME!! ...wait, it means what?" But that was long ago, and I dunno anything about the d20 game. I started playing WoW in Jan, and just quit a few weeks ago. Cool game, but I need a break.

Most importantly, though, I'm a gamer. I'll play anything. I SUCK HARD at FPS games, but I play anyway. I know my friends are gonna kill me, but it's still fun to play.

If you've got a PS3, I'm Teh Loserer, Xbox live name is teh_loserer. I'm pretty easy to find, hit me up! Let's play!

Well, the main reason I have a problem getting to regular's night is because I have a D&D campaign that meets every other Friday. My favorite RPG is Paranoia, though. I also liked V:tm, but I haven't played this latest version of it.

I played the minis version of Battletech back in the day. s'alright, I guess, but I just don't like miniatures games. I'm considering giving the new mechwarrior minis game a try, more out of curiousity than anything else.

I played Mechwarrior 2 lots. Had footpedals too, that I want to use for...

Mechwarrior 4. I don't have it, yet, but I need to catch up with some of you vets and I figure that's the closest thing to at-home practice there is.

currently, though, I play WoW. That's my only 'puter game atm.
