MechCorps Goes to the Galactic Warfront at DragonCon 24, Atlanta, GA, September 3-6, 2010

"Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe!" That's what their website says, and there is no possible way for me to contradict or improve upon that statement! It takes five hotels to hold this collective fandom that includes over 400 featured guests ranging from authors, film and television actors, comic and illustration artists, musicians and theater actors. Cosplay contests, Film Festivals, Bellydancing, Talent Contest, Wrestling, There's even a parade down the streets of Atlanta!

What would be the one thing missing?

The ability to drive a a 70-ton, 3-story tall robot armed to the teeth with lasers, missiles, cannons and all manner of weaponry to take on all foes... including friends!

Well, it just so happens that MechCorps will be in attendance at DragonCon to fill that need with eight of the world famous and critically acclaimed Virtual World Tesla II BattleTech: Firestorm Cockpit Simulator Pods. The battletech pods are fully enclosed military style simulators that feature 7 screens, over 90 control systems, and a 12 speaker surround sound system. When seated in the cockpit, the player pilots their own walking tank known as a BattleMech onto the virtual landscape to compete for battlefield superiority with those seated in surrounding cockpits and a variety of artificial intelligent opponents.

We will stationed in the north east corner of the Galleria Event Hall in the lower level of the Atlanta Hilton with the Gaming portion of the convention and we'll be cranking missions 24 hours per day from Friday morning through Monday evening!
