    MAN O‘ WAR

    John “Vipes” Marchak joined the VGL in 1983, after resigning from the U.S. Air Force to protest the American invasion of Grenada. After his first mission to BattleTech in 1984, Marchak was grounded for attacking a civilian target with neutrino rockets. He then commandeered the mothballed pod MAN O’ WAR, renamed it the DARK AVENGER and surreptitiously translocated to Solaris VII, where he destroyed a hospital while engaged in combat with BattleMechs. Upon his return, Marchak was court-martialled and expelled from the VGL. His pod was returned to its original name and formally retired.
